MAYER CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES – FEBRUARY 22, 2010

 

Call Regular meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. by Acting Mayor Myron Taylor

 

PRESENT: Council Members Taylor, Dodge and Osborn with Stieve-McPadden arriving late

ABSENT:  Mayor Capaul

STAFF:  Administrator Murphy, City Engineer David Martini, Public Works Jeff Frost, Deputy Chris Nelson and Clerk Maetzold

ALSO PRESENT:  Greg Kluver, Ivan Raconteur, Don Wachholz and Nikki Larson

 

The Meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

APPROVE AGENDA

MOTION made by Council Member Osborn with a second by Council Member Dodge to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion Carried 3/0

 

PUBLIC COMMENT

 

APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA

A MOTION was made by Council Member Dodge with a second by Council Member Osborn to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:  Motion Carried 3/0.

1.      Approve Minutes of the February 22, 2010 Regular Council Meeting

2.      Approve Additional Claims for February 2010

3.      Approve Resolution 2-22-2010-6 Acceptance of Donations

4.      Approve the Sheriff’s Department Report for the month of January 2010

 

STAFF REPORTS

  1. Public Works – Council reviewed report dated February 22, 2010
  2. City Engineer – David Martini presented a summary of the projects Bolton & Menk have been working on during the two billing periods December 12 – January 8, 2010.
  3. Sheriff’s Department –No Report
  4. City Administration – The Council reviewed a report from January 25 – February 22, 2010 outlining activities by the City Administrator. 

 

CITY ADMINISTRATOR

  1. WWTF Annual Report – Waste Water Facility Treatment Operator Greg Kluver, was on hand to present his annual report to the Council.
  2. Approval of the Wellhead Protection Update. – On December 10, 2007 the Wellhead Protection Plan Part II was presented to the City Council.  One of the components of the plan was to have a section on implementation to protect the municipal water supply.  In the implementation section there is a two year review and the City has met the requirements of the two year review.  The Council reviewed the plan for implementation for the next two years.  The City may look at the older portion of town to see if any of the older homes still have wells.   A MOTION was made by Council Member Osborn and seconded by Council Member Dodge approving the Wellhead Protection Implementation Program for the City of Mayer and authorization to submit the plan to the MN Department of Health.  Motion Carried 3/0

 

Council Member Stieve-McPadden arrives.

 

OTHER

Council Member Stieve-McPadden reported that she, Administrator Murphy and members from Watertown – Mayer Community Ed have prepared a survey which will be sent out with the next City Newsletter asking residents to direct Community Ed with future plans.

There being no further business, a MOTION was made by Council Member Dodge and seconded by Council Member Osborn to adjourn the meeting at 6:50 p.m.  Motion Carried 4/0
