Compost & Recycling Site
The City of Mayer Compost and Recycling Site is a joint service with Carver County Environmental Services.
Residents may dispose of recycling, brush, and compostable materials.
Materials can be brought to the facility located just east of the Mayer Wastewater Treatment Facility on County Road 30 during the following hours:
(April 1 to Nov 30)
Saturdays: 8 am - 2 pm
Saturdays: 8 am - 2 pm
Wednesdays: 5 pm - 8 pm
All Year
Saturdays: 8 am - 2 pm
Compost Site
Grass clippings, leaves, and soft garden waste will be accepted at the compost site. Brush and branches no larger than four inches in diameter are also welcome.
Recycling Site
Recycling items that are accepted include: paper products (broken down cardboard, junk mail, phone books, office paper, magazines, newspaper, boxboard) food and beverage containers (steel & aluminum cans, foil & trays, glass bottles & jars, food & beverage plastics #1-7), scrap metal, used motor oil, oil filters, and antifreeze.
If you’re dropping off used motor oil, be sure to bring your oil storage container home with you after emptying. There are no disposal options on site and waste oil containers are not recyclable.
Plastic bags and Styrofoam are also prohibited and not recyclable.
